Do I need an appointment?

Yes, grooming is done by appointment ONLY at Bath Brush and Beyond.

How soon can I get an appointment?

Due to the high demand of grooming services, Bath Brush and Beyond is generally booked 1-2 weeks in advance. Occasionally, an appointment may become available sooner due to cancellations or changes in schedule. Please call 505-345-4386 or e-mail to check availability. Spring, summer and the holiday season are the busiest times, so please call well ahead of time! Booking a regular, standing appointment is the best way to ensure your pet gets the grooming he or she deserves, without the wait!

How much does grooming cost?

Most grooms start at $53 and go up from there. We use HIGH quality products and recognize that every dog has its own needs and treatments. Prices can range even though breed and size is given consideration. Regularly groomed animals should fall into the lower range given unless there is more extensive work required (dematting, handstripping, show clip, special handling). This does not include pugs, chihs, and hairless breeds.

Do you do cats?

We do not groom cats. We apologize for the inconvience.

How long do I leave my pet?

We generally need to allow 3-4 hours for the grooming process, and the FULL SPA treatments that we give, sometimes longer if there is extensive work to be done or we are exceptionally busy. In special cases, we may be able to finish your pet in less time. If your pet has special needs, please let us know.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because we schedule a time frame for you and work on commission, if you must cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice. Pets arriving more than 20 minutes late may need to be rescheduled. Please call if you are running late, so that your appointment is not given away. No shows will be charged $25. Clients who miss more than two scheduled appointments must pre-pay any future appointments. If the pre-paid appointment is missed, no refund will be given. Clients who no-show three appointments may no longer schedule appointments with Bath Brush and Beyond.

Can I stay with my pet during the grooming process?

Our liability policy does not allow this. In addition, pets are usually calmer and better behaved in the grooming shop when their owner is NOT present. It is important for the groomer to bond with the dog, and develop mutual understanding and respect. When the owner is present, the dog is so focused on the owner that it disrupts this process.

I don't want my dog around other dogs. Do you have other dogs there while my dog is there?

Demand is such that there will almost always be more than one dog in the grooming shop at any given time. Unless they are in the same family, the dogs are never allowed physical contact with each other.
All dogs are restrained and under control at all times. It is very unusual for a dog to be bothered by the mere presence of other dogs.

I don't want my dog in a cage. Can you accommodate this request?

We have private rooms available for an additional cost.

Do you use hot cage dryers? I have heard horror stories!

Bath Brush and Beyond does NOT use hot dryers on pets. We utilize high-tech adjustable dryers. This allows us complete control of the temperature of the blow dryer.
